Ingredients

  • 2 larger apples
  • 3 teaspoons cinnamon
  • honey or maple syrup to sweeten
  • 50 g oatmeal (Mixit)
  • 30 g chopped pecans
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil or butter (melted)

For serving:

  • white yoghurt or cottage cheese
  • peanut topping from Mixit
  • optionally a little honey or syrup on top

Method

  1. Halve the apples and carefully scoop out the cores with a spoon to make room for the fragrant filling.
  2. Spread them in a baking dish, sprinkle with cinnamon and drizzle with honey or maple syrup.
  3. In a bowl, mix together the oats, chopped pecans, melted coconut oil or butter, honey and a pinch of salt. Sprinkle the mixture over the prepared apples.
  4. Cover with foil and bake in a preheated oven at 180 °C for about 20 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for another 15-20 minutes until the apples are soft and the crumble is golden.
  5. Serve ideally still warm with yoghurt or cottage cheese and top with Mixit's peanut topping.
