If you also love coffee and all coffee-flavoured desserts, this recipe is for you! It's great for breakfast and snacks and it's really quick to prepare. And why cappuccino and not tiramisu flavour? The base of the jar is whipped milk, just like the original.

Difficulty simple
Ingredients
A mixture:
75g oatmeal
1/2 cup coffee
1 tablespoon ground flaxseed
60ml milk (I use vegetable barista or lactose-free milk, which whips well)
Sweetener to taste - you can choose honey, agave syrup or other natural sweetener.
Protein powder - for an additional source of protein, but not necessary.
Cream:
200g cottage cheese, Greek yoghurt or vegetable skyr.
20g protein powder or pudding (I used caramel)
60g applesauce
Sweetener to taste (I chose chicory syrup with caramel flavour).
1-2 tablespoons chia seeds
Method
- Mix the oatmeal with the coffee, whisked milk and let it sit for a while to soak up the coffee and soften.
- Add ground flaxseed and if you want protein (if the consistency is thick, just pour water)
- Taste and sweeten as needed.
- Prepare the cream and add it to the base.
- Garnish with cocoa, banana slices or other fruit and feel free to add a little nut butter the next day for an extra serving of healthy fats and flavor (I prefer almond butter).
Tips and tricks
○ Vegan version: just replace yogurt, protein and cottage cheese with plant-based alternatives and otherwise the procedure is exactly the same.
○ Vegetable milk and whipping: ideally choose soya or barista labelled milk, or if you don't mind, choose lactose-free
○ Protein and possible substitutes: personally I prefer vegan protein, which makes a great consistency for the cream and flakes, but if you don't want to use it, you don't have to
